About this deal

Hey Joanne. Genesis 15 was actually a tough one for me. Abraham certainly slept through the last half of the chapter! I didn’t categorize Genesis 15 events as a dream for a few reasons: I simply could not have done this journey without a very real relationship with Jesus, Father God (who I call ‘our Dad’) and the wonderful Holy Spirit.

Covering themes such as the First Family Tree, the Nature and Character of God to the Sacrificial System and Jesus I AM, this fascinating book, painstakingly gathered and presented in this unique and beautiful way will appeal to both the Christian and non-religious readers alike and provide unexpected insight into (one of) the most important book/s ever written. This timeline visualises the who, what and where of events leading up to and through Easter. You can follow the lines to see the progress of particular individuals - for example focusing in on Friday shows how Jesus draws aside Peter, James, and John and entreats them to pray before Judas and a crowd arrive. Judas betrays Jesus with a kiss, Jesus is arrested, and the disciples flee, while Peter and John follow at a distance. Billions of people across the world find solace, meaning and wisdom from reading the Bible. But for some, it can be a difficult book to engage with and understand. In this this pioneering book Karen Sawrey shows you the bible as you never seen it before, using powerful infographics, with data sourced by experts in their fields, to communicate the key biblical themes and narratives. The Info Graphic Bible focuses on the meta narrative, the key points of the major stories and themes, to give the reader insight into the bigger story and help you understand the complex or abstract themes in a relevant way. Great book. While I've learned many of the facts presented over the years, seeing them in graphic form was eye-opening. Karen Sawrey and her team of contributors have created a Bible resource that will be referenced time and time again. In what the book sets out to be, I think it does fairly well. From the intro the author says that this book is meant to point towards the Bible and encourage readers to go read the Bible. Thanks for the kind words, Andy! There’s a good deal of work yet to be done beyond the Protestant Bible, which I might take on one day (even though I’m not Catholic). ;-) I like that there is an overarching structure which seeks to tell the big picture narrative of the bible and helps you place each graphic along that narrative.

The dream represents Nebuchadnezzar’s coming downfall: God’s judgment on him for his arrogance. 15. Daniel’s beasts In this this pioneering book Karen Sawrey shows you the bible as you never seen it before, using powerful infographics, with data sourced by experts in their fields, to communicate the key biblical themes and narratives. The Infographic Bible focuses on the meta narrative, the key points of the major stories and themes, to give the reader insight into the bigger story and help you understand the complex or abstract themes in a relevant way. Through revealing the ancient traditions, showing connections between Old and New Testament themes, and profiling important characters, you are left with a deeper and more memorable interpretation of the scriptures. Joseph’s message. An angel tells Mary’s betrothed that there is no need to divorce her. The child she is expecting is the savior (Matthew 1:18–24). This is a zoomed-in prelude to ‘All the Prophecies about Jesus,’ using the same data set and key, and, of course, all the same design elements. You’re right: Peter did see a sheet filled with all kinds of unclean animals and was told to “kill and eat.” However, Luke says that Peter “fell into a trance” (Ac 10:10), and later calls this experience a vision (Ac 10:17).

I really appreciate and enjoyed sharing these facts with my family. The Bible is fascinating, and I think it Biblical illiteracy is one of the biggest problems today. People are too busy to make time to read and pray because they don’t make it a priority. I don’t know why they think it’s not relevant. Not all dreams are good ones. The three baskets represent another three days—at the end of which Pharaoh beheads the baker, and the birds eat the baker’s flesh. 9 & 10. Pharaoh’s cows and grain One of the hardest and most time-consuming parts of this project has been creating the data from scratch, which was the case for everything you see with the exception of 2 subjects. But that also meant I had the honour of working with some incredible people and biblical scholars to produce this data, often seeking people out specifically for subjects. Perfect for use with Bible reading plans, personal Bible reading, or family devotions, this edition invites the reader to slow down and delight in the beauty of God’s Word. Once you open The Infographic Bible, you’ll find it difficult to put it down. As a teacher, you could build entire lessons around the infographics contained in this book!

The infographics range from simple to complex, showing different levels of information. Look out for a key on the more complex ones to help you process that information. Remember that the graphics take the leading role with the text playing only a supportive one. Same king, same problem: a troubling dream that only Daniel can interpret. This time a huge, magnificent tree is cut down to earth, and the stump and roots are left to go mad. It’s probably worth noting here that when this goes down, Sarah is about 89 years old. Mesopotamian pilates is one of the world’s lost treasures. 2. Jacob’s ladder The project was released to me at a key stage in my journey of relationship with God and without the foundations I had in knowing his character and ways it would have been impossible. But with God it was possible and that relationship has deepened during these last 5 years. The leaders Rhoda and Andy have been amazing in supporting and championing me at all costs. Rhoda played several roles in the project to support me including data contributor and supporter (see pp 86-87 for example).Karen Sawrey: Wow, I’m so thankful for everyone involved in creating Bible Gateway. It’s such an incredible tool; one which I regularly use and love. I especially appreciate the ability to compare different translations at the same time. In August 2018, we surveyed over 11,000 readers, asking questions about how much time they spend doing some of the things mentioned above. We then compared those responses with the average amount of time it takes to read various portions of Scripture.

Sometimes in the Bible, God communicates to people in dreams. Some of them are symbolic (like the dreams in Daniel), and some involve explicit instructions from God. It was my delight to art direct and refine the whole project and with the exception of 16, I was also the designer and illustrator. Again I had an incredible team, some illustrator contributors and supporters who came in for a few specific graphics, then a couple of guys who were core design, working with me throughout the whole 5 years; there was another designer and an amazing illustrator intern who volunteered one day a week. Scripture excerpts from the New Revised Standard Version, the New King James Version, and the Good News Translation Good catch! Column F is supposed to represent the Bible’s word count total. I’d left that count from a while ago (before adding the Aramaic portions).Loved your dreams infograms. Prior to finding your work, I became intrigued by the dreams in Genesis and elsewhere as I was studying the book. I took a little different approach than “all” dreams to only the ones where something verbal was communicated. (example of non-verbal dream – Pharaoh’s dream of 7’s). My observation was language oriented in dreams to see how many different languages were communicated in dreams. No surprise that the God who created language(s) would be able to “speak” them all even in dreams. There are multiple dreams in Hebrew probably but here is a list of probable languages. This infographic is the bridging of the Old and New Testaments. It spans where the paper changes from the Old Testament’s uncoated, to the New Testament’s coated paper. I know it sounds geeky but it’s been strategically placed so the reader can experience the shift between testaments and between prophecy and fulfillment. Even if it was your first encounter with the Bible, your fingers would feel the change.
